Spa-Themed Bridal Shower Ideas

by Grace Wallace

If there's one thing that you need most during your wedding-planning process, it's probably a little relaxation. When you're caught up in a flurry of activities, such as sending out invitations, choosing a reception venue, working with a caterer, and trying on dresses, a professional manicure and pedicure may be out of the question. Consider hosting a spa-themed bridal shower complete with satin robes and pampering treatments for your bridesmaids.

You can either choose to hold the bridal shower at an actual spa or rent out a private event venue and bring the pros to you. Some venue ideas include hotel conference rooms and country clubs or even a friend's home, depending on what your budget allows. If you choose to have the shower at a spa or event venue, be sure to reserve it as far in advance as possible.

While the focus of the shower should be on fun, there are still a few details you'll need to attend to in order to make it a day to remember. You'll have plenty of chances to celebrate your upcoming nuptials and thank your family members and close friends for being in the wedding.

Here are some spa-themed bridal shower ideas to get you started:

1. Satin Bridesmaids Robes

When each bridesmaid arrives at the shower, treat her to a personalized robe made of a luxurious fabric, such as satin. Choose your bridesmaid satin robes in just one hue or pick them according to each bridesmaids' favorite color, such as pink or red. As another idea, buy robes in a color that coordinates with your wedding theme, such as turquoise for a beach-inspired look.

You can further personalize the robes by having the bridesmaids' names or monograms stitched on them. Not only will the robes become thoughtful and useful shower favors but they'll also make for an excellent photo opportunity when everyone is wearing them.

2. Dainty Finger Foods

To keep with the elegant spa theme, provide plenty of finger foods that party-goers can munch on while socializing in between beauty treatments and massages. Some ideas include delicate tea sandwiches, a cheese and cracker tray, vegetables and dip, and individual green salads.

Serve a selection of hot teas and a large jug of water featuring cut-up fruit, such as watermelon and lemons, for a refreshing flavor.

3. Pampering Favors

In addition to the satin robes, send bridesmaids home with individual bags filled with sample-size beauty products, including body lotions, hand creams, bath bombs, and massage oils. You can also buy the products in bulk and then divide them into small glass bottles labeled with your name followed by "bridal shower" and the date.
